We run a couple of automated
scans to help you access a
module's quality. Each module is
given a score based on how well
the author has formatted their
code and documentation and
modules are also checked for
malware using VirusTotal.

Description

When attempting to automate NIC tuning via Puppet the built-in facts are a good start but not sufficient. A good example is channel tuning: If you want to set the NIC channels to the maximum value you need to know what the maximum value is. On CLI you can detect that via ethtool -l <interface>. This module takes on the task of reading the output of this and several other ethtool flags to make that information available at catalog compile time.

Setup

Setup Requirements

ethtool must be installed. If not, then the fact will be empty. You need to ensure that the binary is present on you system.

Beginning with ethtool_facts

The very basic steps needed for a user to get the module up and running. This can include setup steps, if necessary, or it can be an example of the most basic use of the module.

Usage

Just install this module and puppet facts | jq '.values.ethtool' should show something like this:
